Expos move to DC

Major League Baseball is returning to Washington DC.

As an Englishman, I still can't understand how supporters can feel passionate about franchises that relocate: even talk of Everton's new stadium falling outside the boundary of the city of Liverpool is causing concern. The possibility of treating city and club as seperate entities is incomprehensible. To me, it undermines the credibility of the sport.

My other team, Bashley, will be facing AFC Wimbledon this season, a club that was formed after the famous Wimbledon were moved 70 miles to become the Milton Keynes Dons.

Will Montreal fans react to losing the Expos by forming a new team? Perhaps this is another difference between "soccer" and US sports?
