A correction to the Jan 26th Edition
The following letter was not published by The Economist, but is reprinted here:
Dear Sir,
I was disappointed to read that you credit HEC as being "the original
French business school in Paris, with a proud 127-year history"
("Insead out?", January 26th). ESCP-EAP European School of Management
(a Grand Ecole) was not only founded in 1819, but was done so by
Jean-Baptiste Say - one of the most under appreciated and neglected of
the classical economists, yet often revered by The Economist. In
addition ESCP-EAP preempts the Bologna Accords by being the only
institution with its own campuses across 5 European countries, and a
series of harmonised degree programmes. If 'yer know your history...
