Bravo Brian Barder, for exposing Pete King (Chairman of the House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee) as being... well, a cock.
"Representative King has explained, in recent CNN and BBC interviews, that the Europeans can't understand the need for this information to be handed over because Europeans have no experience of terrorism in their own countries and no understanding of the security needs of the US following 9/11."
This shocking level of ignornace for someone in such a position is compounded with the revelation that he's a vociferous supporter of Noraid "the American organisation that raised money and, according to the British and Irish governments, provided arms for the IRA".
I know that many American's are oblivious to the extent of the IRA terrorist attacks on English soil, and I have even accompanied them to a few Irish bars in DC where I am suspicious about where the collection jars end up. I've said before that I find it hard to see how the US can reconcile their own definition of terrorist appeasement with their hospitality and support for Sinn Fein, but this incident with King is disgraceful.
He's ignorant, he's a hypocrite, and he gives decent American's (and honest ignorance) a bad name.
The "War on Terror" is just a war on the wrong sort of terrorism.

Many thanks for the support. The Congress sometimes seems to work in mysterious ways its wonders to perform.
