If you've done research on immigration and integration you'll know that remittences are large and underreported. There's no real measure of how much immigrants send back to their home country, and certainly no measure of human capital effects. But we can approximate, and should notice. This nice graphic (from Alex Tabarrok) takes a stab at showing the true amount of remittences, as compared to FDI and Aid. Hopefully all three can be discussed as (potentially) effective ways to stimulate growth and development, and also underline the importance of free migration and globalisation.
This information all comes from an LA Times special on remittences
Today, remittances are the largest, fastest-growing and most reliable source of income for developing countries
Thanks for sharing. This website is to I too have to help. Very good.
