Weathering Corruption

Although it's not the best headline in this weeks Economist (this is), I'm delighted for Pete Leeson (and Russell Sobel) who've had their research into the relationship between natural disasters and local-government corruption featured: "Blame the Weather":

"States with bad weather get more frequent gobs of FEMA cash and hence are more corrupt"

Neat theory, solid empirics, massive press attention - well done!
