Yep - I was hanging out with Sting and his friend Russell Crowe last week (apparently that guy's a film star but he sang something too) at a rehearsal for Sting's record-related performance of music by the Tudor composer John Dowland. This is an interesting project - click on the Review (left hand column) for one take on it.
I saw him on the culture show with this. It really seems very likeable.

The song on 'Labyrinth' which is not by Dowland is my favourite - Sting seems really into the words, and his colouring of them is expressive. If he were presenting this programme as a degree recital at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (for instance), the panel, I'm sure would not be bored in the slightest, but would have to take issue with his vocal quality (quick trip to the ear nose and throat hospital for look at cords) and very odd vowels (habitual).
